Ambassador Richard Armitage, President of Armitage International, was named on the Queen's Birthday Honours list as an Honorary Companion for "services to New Zealand-United States of America relations." Mr. Armitage has worked at the State Department and the Department of Defense, and has served as a foreign policy advisor to Presidents Ronald Regan and George W. Bush. He held the position of Deputy Secretary of State from 2001 to 2005, when he retired from public service.
