The New Zealand United States Council has welcomed the announcement by US Vice President Joe Biden that the USA has accepted New Zealand's invitation to send a naval vessel to take part in the Royal New Zealand Navy's 75th Anniversary in November 2016.
NZUS Council Chairman Hon. Simon Power said "The announcement of a US naval visit is a further sign of the dramatic improvement in the bilateral relationship that has been underway over the last several years. The visit of Vice President Biden to New Zealand this week is in itself a sign of the excellent state of the bilateral relationship. His announcement of a naval visit is further evidence of the great progress that has been made. We share the Vice President’s hope that the New Zealand-United States relationship will continue to flourish for decades to come."
